...because I'm not reading that book. I wouldn't even know where to begin.

I just went to the "Seattle Street of Dreams" with a couple friends. I had heard of it before - really pricey houses opened up for you to walk through. Whee. This year, it was maybe a quarter mile from my home.

I saw some neat things - some doorknobs (more 'handles' than 'knobs', really) that I liked, and some semi-permeable driveway approaches that would be nicer than the jungle I currently call my driveway.

But, for the most part, I learned that if I had $1.975 million, I would do something else with it.

I remember going to Street of Dreams eons ago (either 1988 or 1989 as seen on that Web site) and thinking the same thing. :)

The thing I kept seeing over and over again is special-purpose areas (the outside dining area, as separate from the outside lounging area, as separate from the gazebo, as separate from the hot tub...

And then there were areas that I imagine would have a special purpose, but I couldn't figure it out. Perhaps had I been brought up hoity and/or toity, I would understand the purpose of a sitting room. I guess that's what it was - a room in between the master bedroom and the master bath, with a fridge and a sink.

Still, some nice door handles:
