Say hello to the newest member of the Second Story Repertory Board of Directors.

Part of my responsibilities include growing the audience and fundraising. So you can either show up in the audience or just send the checks in. Whatever's easiest for you.

Is this in any way a step towards planetary domination? If so, I hope I can get a prime position in your administration.

It's a very small step, if at all - serving on the board of a nonprofit, providing financial oversight of plays and musicals isn't a straight-line path to ruling them all.

But I might be able to tell you when auditions for the improv group open up. So, that's something.

No, but it gives you access to board members of other nonprofits, a lion's share of whom have pockets full of old money. Having friends in high places can help one's cause in the total domination race.

That's some good thinking. It's good to have friends who know the ins and outs of world domination.

Thanks!

There's some shifting around of responsibilities at the theatre right now, meaning I get to jump in and be part of some pretty important interviews right away.

It seems like so long ago that I first was asked to apply to be on the board - I guess it was before I was sending out resumes for work. I didn't think that it was ever a foredrawn conclusion that I'd get a seat on the board, but other things have distracted me a bit in the interim.
