Playing with my camera again
I'm fascinated with digital photography. I just recently turned up Panorama Factory, a piece of software that will allow you to take a collection of pictures, and it'll stitch them together into one (nearly) seamless whole.

The first one here came from three pictures I took by hand (click for a larger view, really it's large):

And then this one I took last night in my front yard. This one's supposed to be a full 360, but I must have got lazy near the end, because you can see a pretty obvious seam by the big tree.

I haven't yet registered the program, so it watermarks the images, but fairly soon I'll get around to paying for it. After that, I'll find myself buying a special panoramic bracket to go in between my tripod and my camera.

And then a nicer camera.

Re: Very cool!

No, I haven't got a Flickr account - come to think of it, it'd make a certain amount of sense so people don't suck down a huge amount of my (somewhat slim) bandwidth.

I'm pretty impressed with Panorama Factory - the lake picture certainly came out far better than I expected. I could have done better with the second picture - I think I had the flash on, which led to inconsistent lighting - the grass is greener in sections where the sky is more visible.
