Posting to LJ looks like work to the casual observer

I woke up with a little bit of a headache. Not enough for me to stay off the roads, enough to consider calling in sick. Then again, I haven't been busy over the past week (month?), so calling in sick wouldn't be such a big deal.

I looked at my work email from home. I've got one email from my boss, subject: Dave. Nothing in the email itself.

Hm. I wonder if there's something he forgot to put in there, or if there's some bad news that he wanted me to come to his office for, or what.

So I come to work early (having decided to procrastinate my morning treadmill time to evening) and discover one of my coworkers had been laid off. That's a spooky feeling, doubly so when I'm wondering what bad news my boss has for me.

Turns out, he was just trying to get a foosball game together, and that was his way of trying to get me to play foosball.

Crazy. On top of this, all the carpet outside my office was soaked when I arrived. Extra nifty.
