At my age, we celebrate by going to sleep early.

I spent the day with my folks today - in part to celebrate that I am old, in part to see an amateur production of "Peter Pan". I've mentioned Mountaineers Players productions in this space before (go back almost exactly multiples of a year, they put on shows each Memorial Day and thereabouts).

I have no gripes about the play, except to say that we were seated on the ground (normal), and a bunch of people were seated nearby (crowded). In order to fit in our space, I ended up sitting in an odd fashion that I expect is the cause of my back pain now.

Mom & Dad dutifully bought me the books that I requested (The Beekeeper's Apprentice and A Slight Trick of the Mind). Both are novels of Sherlock Holmes, which will follow nicely after the book I'm currently reading, Shadows Over Baker Street, which takes Holmes and transplants him into a Lovecraftian universe.

And now, I must to bed, for the phone must be answered tomorrow morning at 8:00.
