ra-a-a-ain, I don't mind|
I left work early today in part because I wasn't feeling well, in part because I wasn't productive anyway, and in part because my neighbor was talking about all the roads that were washing out. It took me an hour to get from Kirkland to Bothell, which normally takes around 10 minutes.
At one point, I got stuck at an intersection with the direction I wanted to go closed off, and the only way open to me sending me back where I just came from, wasting about 20 minutes of ostensible progress. So I had dinner in Bothell, and managed to get home from there without much (further) incident.
Sorry to hear about the financial hit!
Fortunately the repairs were pretty cheap, around $100.00. Could've been much, much worse.
I spent 3 hours driving from E. Bremerton to Silverdale and back yesterday afternoon(in our other car). Saw some fairly scary stuff. One unfortunate driver literally "submarined" his Beetle at the bottom of Bucklin Hill Road. He was pushed out of the water by a big truck but I'm sure he killed his car. I think he was ok though.
Guess the new ones don't float like the originals.
Also, our storage facility had a roof cave-in but again we dodged a bullet-the units to the left and right of us had water damage but ours was mercifully spared!
I always tell people that they would enjoy living here because of the mild weather. Guess I'll have to come up with a new sales pitch.
