Book review: I just finished "Angels and Demons", by Dan Brown (who went on to write "The Da Vinci Code", the better-known sequel to AaD). Fun fluffy page turner. It's a murder mystery that brings in CERN, the Vatican, and the Illuminati. Aside from the scientists not really talking like scientists, the cardinals not really talking like Christians, and numerous factual errors about the Illuminati (how do you do that?), it was still a good book. And every 50 pages or so, there was an "Ambigram"; a word printed in such a way that it reads the same even if you turn it 180 degrees.
(Where have I seen one of those?)
I give it a 7 out of 10, maybe a little higher if you're really bored and need a thriller whodunnit. Maybe a little less if you know something about science, religion, or conspiracies.
I give the ambigrams a 6 out of 10. They were a little too fussy.
