Not a holiday, but friends of the family have a tradition of camping just outside the Mount Rainier park boundaries, and these days my folks are part of that tradition. So, in preparation for a crunchy bit at work, I took Thursday and Friday off to go see Rainier:

It was nice to get out of the routine, to get out where it was quiet, if hot. And then I got home, and it was still hot.
What better to do on a hot day than take apart a broken toilet?
Almost anything, I imagine. But I've been half-heartedly trying to take it apart for a while, but a pair of very corroded bolts put up a good fight until today. So, getting it apart with all the rust you see there, is a significant step forward. Tomorrow, I'll scrub it down and replace all the internals, which was the point of taking it apart in the first place.
