I don't have high hopes for the food processor, but I believe that I have the equipment necessary to subvert Microsoft's security and install free software on my brand new XBox.
No, there's no compelling reason that I need another computing device in this house.
On the other hand, there was a time when Microsoft was losing money on each XBox they sold, and it required several (9?) games sold per XBox before they broke even. Would I be so petty as to build a Beowulf network out of cheap, nay, subsidized machines? Out of spite?
Hm. I just realized that my mailserver and webserver have been running for a long long time on a Pentium1-100, and I've moved the web service over to a P3-500, and one project for this weekend might be to move mail as well, and shut down the P100 for good. Both the old machine and the new machine are outclassed by the XBox. And I paid more for each of them in their day.
Random blather about this project to ensue, I warn you.
