I bought a new office chair today. It's a replacement for the chair that's been in front of my computer for the past 11 years or so. Only recently, the old chair's been falling apart. At first, I was frustrated by this, and then I considered how much mileage, so to speak, I got out of it, and I was consoled.
I bought the chair at Staples, which a coworker and I have decided is the source of all bargains. They offered to put the chair together for me for $5, and near the end as I was trying to figure why the second armrest wasn't fitting, I thought that I could have spared the money. But I persisted, and now I'm reclining in this chair, and it's awfully comfortable.
It seems to smell like pine, though.
When did the Oscars start having better commercials than the Superbowl?
Each year, I'm saddened and surprised by the list of film figures that have died. Rest in Peace, folks.
My new drink of choice is "Mike's Hard Lime". I mention it because my glass is empty right now.

I'm a Pixar softie. I'm delighted to see them getting some Academy respect.
I'm rather disappointed with myself for seeing so few of the nominated films and performances. Oh, well. Maybe next year I'll do better. I gotta imagine that I won't be crunching to finish a game through most of 2004.
I miss the days when I lived in Boston, and some of you good people would see movies with me on a weekly basis.
Congratulations to all you dead white male fantasy authors out there.
